Nottingham’s award-winning Sneinton-based Redsmith Distillery (who back in 2020 manufactured hand sanitiser during the fight against COVID-19) have unveiled their latest creation that’s sure to be a hit this summer.
The London Dry expression is well established as Redsmith’s signature spirit and has been the favourite of many since 2016. When distilling gin, the finished product must of course comply with set standards, however the botanical lineup and distillation profile has infinite variety.
It is with this in mind that Wayne Asher, Redsmith founder and distiller finds it fascinating to experiment with botanical alchemy to create interesting, limited release gin. Redsmith London Dry Gin has prominent citrus, but what if the citrus aspect was increased as a botanical in the still? And what if white tea was also included in the still. Furthermore, what if post distillation the spirit was rested with the fine zest of organic oranges? Well, the result of such experimentation is Redsmith’s most recent limited release – Orange and White Tea Gin.
