Ice Locker at Motorpoint Arena Creates Ice Hockey Puck in Memory of Panthers Player Adam Johnson

A commemorative ice hockey puck has been created by Ice Locker at Motorpoint Arena – home of the Panthers – in memory of Nottingham player Adam Johnson.

Bearing his player number 47, along with his name and Panthers logo, all profits from the puck will go to local charities in Hibbing, Minnesota, the hometown of the 29-year-old ice hockey player, who tragically lost his life in a game at the weekend.

A ‘Love for Hibbing and Hockey Memorial Fund’ has been established by the Johnson family in Adam’s memory, to support local charitable activities in the area. The Go Fund Me set up by the Panthers team is also going towards the same fund, in line with the wishes of the Johnson family.

Motorpoint Arena Commercial Director Phil Jones said:

“As the home of Nottingham Panthers, we wanted to do something in memory of Adam. We know he was a much-loved teammate as well as an outstanding hockey player. We hope this is a way to allow everyone to remember The Nottingham Panthers number 47 and help raise funds for charities in his hometown at the same time.”

As well as the memorial in Bolero Square where the public can lay flowers and pay their respects, the Nottingham Panthers will come together on Saturday evening to remember Adam. Supporters of all clubs and the general public are invited to attend the Motorpoint Arena from 5.30pm to pay their tribute to the #47. The arena bowl will be open and people will be invited onto the ice, which will be carpeted, to sign Books of Condolences.
